Background
The Community Garden Project is part of the Project funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
The aim of the group is to get carers and those they care for involved in nature as a way of promoting mental, physical and emotional well-being.
It started with just a few carers sharing ideas and now we have links with over 8 local community projects helping to connect! Including members from Pure Vegetable Well-Being, Horticulture Wales and Incredible Edible.Â
Get involved!
We’re a small but perfectly formed group of volunteer enthusiasts (carers and ex carers) that come together monthly to help steer and plan activities, share ideas and generally motivate others to get outdoors and involved in garden projects.Â
If you’d like to get involved please get in touch!

Hints and tips
- If you germinate seeds before sowing you'll get slightly quicker produce and you'll be able to separate the weaker seeds to get better growth
- Save money on planters by using things round the house like toilet roll holders or egg shells for the seedlings
- Don’t worry if you think you need more sun or heat you can create your own little greenhouse by placing a plastic bag over the pot/tray, tied at the top
- If you need any help or advice we've lots of handy growers here to help!
