Mental Health Awareness Week 2020
18th - 24th May
Mental Health Awareness Week is the UK’s national week to raise awareness of mental health and promote the message of good mental health for all. Hosted by the Mental Health Foundation, the theme of Mental Health Awareness Week this year is ‘kindness.’
The aim of the week this year is to celebrate acts of kindness that are so important to our mental health and to start a discussion on the kind of society we want to shape as we emerge from the coronavirus pandemic.
One thing that has been seen all over the world is that kindness is prevailing in these uncertain times. Amid the fear, there is also community, support and hope. The added benefit of helping others is that it is good for our own mental health and wellbeing. It can help reduce stress and improve emotional wellbeing. (Source)
