Complaints Procedure

We aim to provide the best service, however, we recognise that sometimes things can go wrong. If you are unhappy with any aspect of our work, we welcome your feedback and will take your complaint seriously.

Please provide as much detail as possible, including:

  • Your name and contact details

  • A description of what happened

  • When and where the issue occurred

  • Any relevant supporting information.

Zero Tolerance Policy

As an employer, NEWCIS has a duty to care for the health and safety of its staff. The charity also has a legal responsibility to provide a safe and secure working environment for staff. All visitors, volunteers and carers are expected to behave in an acceptable manner and violent, abusive or threatening behaviour towards staff or any person accessing our service may result in removal from our register, rejection to register or even criminal proceedings.

Our staff have the right to request anyone being abusive in person to leave the premises, and the right to terminate a telephone call with and anyone who is being abusive.

All instances of actual physical abuse on any member of staff, by a carer or their relatives will be reported to the police as an assault. We expect all carers and volunteers to be responsible and avoid attending the carers centre under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.

A zero tolerance approach will implemented on any of the following actions:

– Excessive noise e.g recurrent loud or intrusive conversation or shouting.

– Threatening or abusive language involving swearing or offence remarks.

– Intimidation Tactics.

– Persistent or unrealistic demands that cause stress to staff will not be accepted. Requests will be met wherever possible and explanations given when they cannot.

– Derogatory racial or sexual remarks.

– Malicious allegations relating to members of staff, other carers or visitors.

– Offensive sexual gestures or behaviours.

– Abusing alcohol or drugs on the premises.

– Drug dealing on the premises.

– Wilful damage to the charities property.

– Threats or threatening behaviour.

– Theft.
