Thames Valley Controls Take on Snowdon
On 3rd August 2019, a team of 11 employees from Thames Valley Controls completed the gruelling trek up to the summit of Mount Snowdon. It was the first ascent for some team members so the 9 mile long trek up and down the Llanberis Path was quite daunting.
Training for this challenge commenced weeks before and involved trekking up Moel Famau, the highest hill in the Clwydian Range, in preparation for the big day.
TVC chose to raise funds for NEWCIS in recognition of the support they give to so many people living in Wales in so many different ways.
NEWCIS is the largest provider of carer services in Wales – delivering information, one to one support, advocacy, training and counselling to carers who provide unpaid support to family or friends living in North East Wales.
Thanks to the efforts of those involved and the gratefully appreciated generosity of those who donated the TVC team raised £2,084 far exceeding all expectations.
Richard Young, Managing Director of Thames Valley Controls commented, “I’m very pleased and proud that we have been able to help and support this very worthwhile charity. Our climbing colleagues did us proud; well done to them and to the rest of the Company for raising this fantastic donation.”
