NEWCIS has identified the need for carers to be provided with the correct information and support when considering the need for Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA).

An LPA is a powerful legal document that safeguards a persons wishes in the event that they are no longer able to make decisions for themselves, due to accident or illness, such as dementia. There are two types of LPA: Health and Welfare, & Property and Financial Affairs.

Working with Celtic Law Ltd has given NEWCIS the opportunity to develop a much needed service for carers that is not currently being offered anywhere in the UK.

NEWCIS offers carers regular Lasting Power of Attorney workshops, with the aim of providing carers with information about the process and what a Lasting Power of Attorney entails. There may be financial support available to help carers with the fees associated with a Lasting Power of Attorney.
