NEWCIS is one of the largest providers of carer services in Wales – delivering information, one to one support, training and counselling to carers who provide unpaid support to family or friends living in North East Wales. We’ve been helping carers in North East Wales since 1995. The charity has grown to have an office base in each county with headquarters in Mold.

The NEWCIS team is made up of management, trustees, development officers, wellbeing officers, carers needs assessors and an administration team. Our voluntary board of directors meet on a regular basis to discuss, decide and review our strategies and policies, to receive reports and updates from our Chief Executive Officer. The trustee board have a wide range of experiences, several have experience of caring responsibilities. They are all extremely focused on the needs of carers and they are dedicated to supporting the team in driving and developing the services forward.

We are constantly striving to raise awareness of our services in order to reach out to even more people. Many carers are struggling with a multitude of issues including access to information, maintaining a work/caring balance, red tape and coping with loss, as well as the physical and mental challenges involved. We recognise that changes in services due to the current economic climate are challenging for carers and those they care for. Our aim is to further develop our services for carers and volunteers and ensure that the one-to-one support that is so valued is maintained.

NEWCIS provides a lifeline to carers of all ages and backgrounds and offers a range of services tailored to meet individual needs. Our services include information about financial support, an award-winning respite scheme, carer needs assessments, counselling, training, peer support groups, hospital support and much more. NEWCIS can help you access the information, guidance and support you need to help you in your caring role. As well as informing you about your rights as an unpaid carer.

Our NEWCIS Young Carers team support young carers (under 18) and young adult carers (under 25) in Flintshire. Click here for more information.
