You could get Carers Allowance if you care for someone at least 35 hours a week and they get certain benefits. To claim Carers Allowance you must be aged 16 or over, caring for someone who is in receipt of Personal Independent Payment, Disability Living Allowance, Attendance Allowance, Constant Attendance Allowance or Armed Forces Independence Payment, caring for one person for at least 35 hours a week, not earning more than £116 per week (after taxes, care costs while you’re at work and 50% of what you pay into your pension), not in full-time education or studying for more than 21 hours a week.
