Wales bus pass replacement:
Important information and updates ahead of upcoming deadline

The current free bus pass for the over 60's and disabled passengers will be replaced with new-style Concessionary Travel Cards on December 31. Transport for Wales have confirmed they are on track with the applications, having processed more than 90% of the 500,000 submissions (including 25,000 paper applications) they have so far received.
The new pass will enable people who are aged 60 and over, or who meet the government's disability eligibility criteria, to continue to travel for free on most bus services and some rail services in Wales.

The applications take around four weeks on average to be processed. Transport for Wales has agreed a grace period during which bus operators will accept both the old and new-style cards.
