Caring for loved ones is isolating; it increases rates of poverty, anxiety and stress and can affect health and wellbeing. NEWCIS would like to offer a funded Christmas meal for carers to attend with the person they care for - this 'coming together' of carers from the three counties would create a more cohesive carer community. Evidence shows this recognition reduces pressure on an already stretched health and social care service.

Because caring doesn't stop at Christmas

For many carers Christmas is an even more difficult time, the increased financial demands and emotional pressure can feel overwhelming. Attending this Christmas meal, whilst not resolving the difficulties carers face, will offer respite and a sense of belonging.

210 meals

From the donations so far, 210 Christmas meals were able to be funded for carers at the Christmas party at Ruthin Castle. For most, this was the only chance of a break this Christmas - so thank you.
